Meet Meg
Hello, I am Meg Hickey and I am getting ready to start my 15th year at Maroa-Forsyth, but my 5th year teaching 7th/8th grade Social Studies. I am loving it…I get to talk history 6 hours a day, what is better than that??!! My road here was not a traditional route. First I graduated in Accounting from the University of Illinois and spent a few years working for the U of I. Then I decided to go back to school for Elementary Education at Millikin University and later got my Masters back at the University of Illinois in Math and Science. After teaching Social Studies during the day, I coach Scholastic Bowl and Golf for the high school.
When I am not doing something school related, I love to spend time with my husband and two girls, Piper and Baylor. Our family motto is work hard, play harder and boy do we like to play. We love to vacation in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, but have been known to take a few trips in between.
