On Saturday August 31 the MFMS Softball team shut out the Sangamon Valley Storm in a 10-0, 5 inning game.

By Noah Luther, Greyson Applebee, Peter Hackleman, Cayden Rose

With help from Daniella Hovey’s 12 strikeouts on the mound, and Evelyn Bohlman’s 2 RBI strokes that contributed a large amount of runs for the Trojans. Both Evelyn and Danni believed that they could pull it off.

Head coach Selina Fink thinks her team did everything right to lead the team to victory. Bohlman agreed saying, “the whole team did good”. The team had an amazing game all around from outfield to infield. They had great communication and great effort. It seemed like there was a lot of energy coming from the dug-out as they were yelling their cheers. With focus and determination, this team can do great things.

We asked Coach Finck’s thoughts on who played the best this game, “Well… that is a good question but I think a lot of kids hit the ball hard. Evelelyn did a great job hitting, and Danni did a great job on the mound pitching. So, those two would probably be my picks for today.”
