Dear MTF Families,
This weekly update is coming to you a day early because of our 4 day weekend. Below are the COVID numbers for the district this last week and you will notice the data is trending in the right direction. Thank you for doing your part in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Our extra-curricular activities both practices and games continue to go very well. Another big thank you goes out to our community and spectators for following the safety guidelines and supporting our efforts. I'd also like to send a huge shout out to Mr. Phil Applebee, our Athletic Director, for his tireless efforts dealing with the scheduling complexities of these uniquely condensed timelines for all of our sport seasons. We couldn't do it without you Phil!
Finally this week, as you likely already know, our School Board last Thursday approved a 3-year contract for the next superintendent, Dr. Kris Kahler. Many of you already know Kris from his many years as the Grade School principal and more recently as the Middle School principal. I am thrilled for Dr. K and the entire school district community as under Kris's leadership the district will thrive dealing with the challenges ahead. I have already started working with Dr. Kahler on a smooth and seamless transition plan and I am committed to setting him up for success before my retirement date on June 30, 2021.
Please be safe and warm in the upcoming days and as always, watch for any announcements that might come from the school district regarding the weather's impact on our school learning plans.
